The free leadership space does not start within the framework of the organisation.

It starts within the leader themselves.

• courage to stand in the unclear
• awareness of your own strengths and patterns
• authenticity in relationships
• the ability to lead with integrity

When you stand strong in yourself, the space around you grows.

Actions become clearer.

Direction becomes cleaner.

And your employees can feel it.

Autonomy and Meaning – the Driving Force of Modern Leadership

Based on Self-Determination Theory, we know that leaders thrive and act most strongly when they experience:

• meaning
• self-determination
• competence
• relational support

These are the psychological foundations that make it possible to use the leadership space actively and maturely.

Autonomy is not freedom to do everything — it is freedom to make meaningful choices within a framework that you understand.

How Does the Leadership Space Grow?

The leadership space expands from within – and out into the organisation.

From within:

• you clarify who you are as a leader
• you dare to stand by your choices
• you rest in your leadership identity
• you take responsibility for your way of leading

From without:

• you create strong relationships
• you align expectations with your boss and team
• you navigate culture and structure competently
• you act in grey zones and create clarity

When inner courage is combined with outer navigational strength, a strong and sustainable leadership space is created.

Why Does It Matter?

Courage in leadership is important because modern leadership is not about doing everything right.

It is about:

• being whole as a leader
• being able to stand firm in change
• creating security through presence
• leading with integrity
• being a human being first – and leading from there

This is where the courage to lead is found.

And this is where the free leadership space becomes a real force – both for you and for the organisation.
